How to save money in Sweden
Sweden has a pretty good social safety net but there are times when it's nice to be able to save a bit of money here and there, and for some it's even a nice hobby in itself regardless of the times.
This is not a post about the placement/investment of the savings, there will be another guide about ISK and various alternatives; this one is about spending less while getting more.
This is also not a post about behavioral changes or similar. So like, taking short cold showers, quitting alcohol, and never buying shoes again would definitely save money, but this post is more about buying those shoes cheaper now that you've decided you need to.
The opportunities for savings vary hugely. For someone who lives in a rented apartment and does the laundry at the tvättstuga shared among the tenants, the electrical bill is of way less consequence than for someone who lives in a badly isolated house with electrical heating. So the things I'm going to share are less of a checklist where every item will bring huge savings to everyone reading this and/or be worth the effort, and more of a smörgåsbord where one can pick and choose.
